McFARLAND, Charlotte Hillenbrand, age 89, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Bethany Village. She was born December 2, 1927 in Middletown, Ohio and lived in Dayton for many years. She was a mother and homemaker. Charlotte loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed playing with her daughter’s dog, “Baxter”. Preceding her in death were her parents, William and Edna Caroline (Hesse) Hillenbrand; her husband, Earl L. McFarland in 2005; four sisters, Helen C. Arnold, Mildred Wooldridge, Arlene Jolly and Pat Burd; and four brothers, Elsworth “Bud”, Mervin, William and Jakie Hillenbrand. She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Robert) Logan; one son, Charles (Sandy) McFarland; four grandchildren, Laura (Grant) Pedersen, Amy (Brad) McFarland Smith, Brian (Holly) McFarland and John (Brittany) McFarland; four great grandchildren, Charlotte Pedersen, Annabelle Pedersen, Jack McFarland, and a soon arriving daughter of Brian and Holly McFarland; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 12:00 noon with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S.
