SCHENCK, James A., age 80, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 at his residence. He was born August 14, 1939 in Hamilton and lived in the Miami Valley area all his life. He was employed in utilities for 35 years for the Middletown School District retiring in 2005. James was a member of the Buckeye Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing in area lakes and ponds. The family expresses their sincere thanks and appreciation to Hospice Care of Middletown and all the nurses that took such excellent care of James during his illness. Preceding him in death were his parents, Roy and Helen (Grey) Schenck; five brothers and seven sisters. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Martha Martin Schenck; three children, Scott (Candace) Schenck, James (Amy) Schenck, Jr. and Pamela Fields; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; one sister, Patty Harris; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 4609 Bonita Dr., Middletown, Ohio 45044, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. with his nephew, Pastor David Schenck officiating.
