HASTY, Ruth Elizabeth, age 74, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Kettering Medical Center where she had been a patient for two days. She was born December 10, 1942 in Germantown, Ohio and lived in this area all her life. She was employed as a secretary for Tim Hogan’s Carpet Outlet for 30 years. Ruth enjoyed vacations and picnics with her family. Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Mable M. (Pefley) Huffman; and a brother-in-law, Larry Hasty. Ruth is survived by her husband of 56 years, Vernon Lee Hasty, Sr.; three children, Lesa (Steve) Perkins, Vernon Lee (Sheri) Hasty, Jr., and Janice (Mike) Johnson; eleven grandchildren, Craig, Amanda, Chris, Jacob, Josh, Nikki, Anthony, Rachelle, Zachary, Alaina, and Alexis; six great grandchildren, Isabelle, Madyson, Andrew, Grace, Riley and Aria; three sisters, Anna Mae (Nelson) Hinkle, Charlene (Don) Wood and Etta (Greg) Hanahan; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Lori Hicks officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, Ohio 45044.
