WALTER S. PLUCKARD

August 26, 1939 - August 29, 2018

PLUCKARD, Walter S., age 79, of Franklin, Ohio passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018. He was born August 26, 1939 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, and then moved to Portsmouth, Ohio after his service in the Air Force. He was employed as the State Page Editor for the Portsmouth Newspaper, until moving to Middletown to work at Armco/AK Steel, where he was employed in the maintenance department for 30 years before retiring. He was loved by all who knew him, and will be sadly missed by all, especially Mary Ann and Morgan. Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Helen (Sass) Pluckard. He is survived by his companion of 21 years, Mary Ann Sanders; Mary’s granddaughter, Morgan Sewell; his twin sister, Barbara Morgan; Mary's sister, Marlene Temple; and many extended family and friends. Private arrangements at the convenience of the family. His final resting place will be at the Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S.
