MAUDE WHITT

OBITUARY FOR MAUDE WHITT WHITT, Maude, age 100, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. Maude was born September 8, 1913 in Rowan County, Kentucky to William and Viola (Rose) Zornes and moved to Ohio when she was 12 years of age. During her lifetime she had been employed at P. Lorillard, Peggy Miner’s Grocery, Whitt’s Grocery and Miami Carey retiring in 1977. She collected antiques and dolls, but her favorite was her dolls. The family sends a special thank you to her caregivers, Jimmie Mize and Lisa Eve. They also send thanks and appreciation to the Nurse’s Care and Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, for the excellent care they gave their mother during her illness. Preceding her in death were her parents; her former husband and father of her children, Troy Whitt; an infant son, Carl Raymond “Snookie”; a son, Terry Whitt, Sr. in 2011, a son-in-law, Brack White in 2011; a grandson, Matthew White; great grandchildren, Amber and Joshua Bowermaster; three sisters, Grace Todd, Bessie Green, and Carrie Trisel; three brothers, Charley Zornes, Homer Zornes and Arthur Zornes, Sr.; and her Uncle Elmer and Aunt Becky Woodward, who raised her when her mother passed away. Maude is survived by a son, Robert “Bobby” Whitt; three daughters, Gloria Sparks, Janice White and Candy (Don) Klamo; a daughter-in-law, Paulette Whitt; a sister Joyce DeSize; nine grandchildren, Jeff, Rodney, Greg, and Steve Bowermaster, Valerie (Dan) Robinson, Amy (Mike) Graham, Janine (Darrell) Fitzwater, Jimmie Mize, and Terry (Libby) Whitt, Jr.; 10 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and Mia on-the-way; and many nieces, nephews and other family members. Visitation will be Monday April 7, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Zornes officiating. Interment will be at Germantown Union Cemetery, Germantown, Ohio.
